I’m so pleased to announce that Ferdinand and Luna are officially out in the world!
My Storyworld, My Sister the Werewolf, is now available in the Bedtime Stories app. The first story is free, and you can get all five for just $1.99. I talk more about the Storyworld and writing in an interview today over on the Bedtime Stories blog.
The way the app works is that you get a full story, but you also get an outline so that you and your kiddo can branch out and create your own story within the world. You can either tell the story as it’s written, or you and your child can tell the story in your own words. It’s a great way to bond with your kiddo, encourage creativity, and cultivate a love of storytelling.
The app also has a really neat feature called Storybuilder, which gives you different story elements that you and your child can use to create your own original story. If your kiddo is participating in NaNoWriMo’s Young Writers Program, I can see this feature being really helpful!
The Storyworlds are divided into age groups (2-5 and 6-9), but there’s a lot of overlap depending on what your child is interested in. New content is being launched on a weekly schedule, so there’s plenty to keep bedtime entertaining.
Bedtime stories are an important part of our lives at my house, so I’m thrilled that the Bedtime Stories app offers a new way for parents and kids to connect. I was intrigued by the concept of the app when I was first approached, and I love the way it’s turned out. I think it’s a really special thing, and I’m super proud to be a part of it!
